I Inherited an Estate. Do I Have to Pay an Estate Tax?

The state of Texas does not currently impose an inheritance or estate tax. The federal government, however, does require an estate tax for inherited estates. However, because of estate tax deductions, it is possible that you will not end up owing any federal estate tax.
